Metal wall portion with lamp housing, frosted glass shade - Easy to assemble, simply hang the shade by the wire on the hooks on the housing - Could knock the shade off the hooks accidentally, could have been designed differently by having the metal balls on the glass shade attach securely to the housing, but for my application this was no issue - Takes medium base standard light bulbs, and would be easy to change when they burn out
